AAT qualifications to help those starting out in accounting and business made available in Malaysia

August 16, 2016

AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians), a globally recognized player in the accounting and finance sector, has joined forces with training organization System & Skills Training Concept (SSTC) to deliver internationally recognised accounting and business qualifications in Malaysia.

SSTC is the first training provider in Malaysia to offer AAT qualifications since The Malaysian Qualifications Authority (MQA) gave its approval and accreditation to the AAT Accounting Qualification in May 2016. Students at SSTC who complete the three levels of the AAT Accounting Qualification will be qualified at the same level as a Malaysian Diploma.

Each level of the accounting qualification combines the latest industry knowledge with practical learning to ensure students are trained to a high standard and immediately able to work. They are designed to reinforce the finance team of any business, and have been developed for anyone eager to boost their business skills and start a career in finance.

Rob Alder, Head of Business Development at AAT, said: “We are very excited to be working closely to provide SSTC with all the support and guidance it needs to efficiently deliver AAT qualifications in Malaysia. We are eager to work together for the benefit of our students and to invest in their futures. We will help them move up the ladder or even launch a whole new career in accountancy by equipping them with the right expertise, in-demand qualifications, and confidence needed to succeed in today’s highly competitive finance industry.”

Mei Yoke Pak, CEO at SSTC says: “AAT provides a wide range of practical qualifications for beginners to help them build a successful career. There is a requirement for skilled accounting technicians to help Malaysian businesses, which the AAT qualification addresses. It can bridge the gap between those who have no accounting backgrounds and those with chartered qualifications, so AAT qualifications will therefore play a vital role.”

With over 130,000 members in more than 90 countries, AAT is a leader in the finance and accountancy industry, providing practical qualifications for finance staff working across the world. It awards around 90 per cent of all vocational qualifications in accounting, and is sponsored by professional accounting bodies such as the United Kingdom’s Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, thInstitute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.

Based in Bandar Puteri Puchong, in the suburbs of Kuala Lumpur, System & Skills Training Concept is the latest addition to over 500 training providers of AAT accounting and finance courses across the world.
